In 2006 I participated in the golden key contest in Belgium, and my work was accepted for the Clavis exhibition held in Hasselet, Belgium, and later on – in Tokyo, Japan.
This particular contest is mainly for illustrators who write their own books. The book I had written was titled "Boxes", and it tells the story of a tiny man, who shares a box with his cat, in a city made entirely out of boxes. One morning he realizes that there must be something in this world that has no corners at all, and tries to spread this insight around, although he is really very shy.
The exhibition was over, and I got my art back, and completely forgot about it. One day, in 2011, I got a call from a digital book company owner, who wanted me to make a digital app of a story that was copyright free. I suddenly remembered I had something of the sorts, and offered him "Boxes" to be turned into an app. I was assigned a great animator and creative director, Yair Katz, and a magnificent programmer, Eran Lesser. Together with my husband, who had written the beautiful music for the app, added the sound effects and had edited the video, we have spent two whole years in creating "Boxes".
